Start with the vacancy. Identify the capabilities that genuinely overlap with your experience and make those easy to find.
Be specific
“Excel: pivot tables and lookups” is more informative than “computer skills”. “Medication administration” is more useful than “healthcare skills” where appropriate.
Balance technical and people skills
Many roles need both. Include interpersonal skills when they matter, but demonstrate them through responsibilities or achievements rather than listing clichés.
Prove important skills in experience
If a skill is central to the job, reinforce it in your work-history bullets with an example of how you used it.
